See How a Little Tree Cabin Can Be More Livable than a Huge Mansion
A picturesque cabin over looking the wild and beautiful forest, this Owl Tree Cabin will make you feel like you are in a treehouse in the forest. Perched on columns that look like stilts, this beautiful little cabin is the epitome of that little cabin in the woods, or a forest getaway that you can retreat to to get away from it all. The Owl Tree Cabin, is like all log homes, which known for their cozy and familiar feeling, something that just makes people feel right at home. It might be connected to some nostalgia or memories, or it might just be because the materials come from the earth itself, and that the trees are living beings themselves, that makes us feel so comforted in a log home. Log homes have also been built for centuries, and are a big part of our history as human beings. They are a part of our housing history and so, that makes them a part of how we have evolved as humans too. They are definitely one of North America's ways to build homes, and they have been a trusted way to build homes, that people know they can enjoy for decades to come.
The precious cabin is located in Northern California, close to Mendocino, and was actually built by the owners who made their perfect retreat. At 225 square feet of space, total, this cabin is just the perfect size for a couple to live in. When you step inside, you notice the high, vaulted ceilings, adding so much height and extra space to the cabin. If you don't want to build out, build up to create the feeling of more space. The loft sleeping space is a nice feature, that provides a private space away from the rest of the house to sleep. There are even stairs leading up to the loft, instead of just a ladder, like most small houses.
The kitchen is small, but functional, with a set of burners to prepare meals or boil some hot water for tea. There is a little convection oven as well, to cook up some meals for two. There is plenty of cupboard space packed into the small space as well which is very impressive. The bedroom actually has a lot of head space as well, and a sweet little writing desk to use. The bathroom is complete with a shower, sink and toilet, which looks to be a composting toilet. Though, the bathroom is just outside the home with access from the deck. Owl Tree Cabin is actually available for rent, through the awesome Airbnb site, where you can rent a whole home like this, or just a room in someone's home. You can rent places all over the world too! Wouldn't it be so much fun to stay in a place like this? Either for a getaway, or to test out what tiny house living is all about!
