An Eco-Friendly, Convertible, Naturally Rot- and Insect-Resistant Log Home (Click for Floor Plans)

Introducing the Bristol II Log Cabin Plan! Could this be the log home you’ve been dreaming about for so long? Created by Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, this 1,306 square-foot beauty has two levels, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, all designed with your space and comfort in mind. Welcome to your new home! The original Bristol I log home was so popular, the designers of Katahdin Cedar Log Homes were encouraged to develop an even better version, this time with an extra bathroom. If you need more than two bedrooms, you can easily convert the Bristol II into a three-bedroom log home as well.

Based in Oakfield Maine, Katahdin Cedar Log Homes has been in business for forty years, specializing in the eco-friendly log home industry. They have built hundreds of log cabins and they understand the business inside and out. President David Gordon and his crew at Katahdin are very focused on crafting high-quality log homes while taking the environment into close account. Every decision they make is based on its overall effect on the land. They maximize the efficiency of every cedar log that they use by utilizing ALL of it and wasting nothing. Even if a log isn’t long enough to be part of a wall, it can be used for a number of other purposes – including log furniture, gateways, and cedar fences. You’ll also be very relieved to know the builders at Katahdin treat all of the wood naturally to prevent weathering, decay, and insect infestations. Their fine craftsmanship can be witnessed throughout all of their beautiful log homes.

The Bristol III Log Home Plan starts with a very spacious covered front porch, which is always a plus. When you walk in the front door, the first room you’ll experience is the open-concept living room that spans the entire front area of the downstairs. Everywhere you look, there is lots of breathing room and light coming in from the large picture windows. As you walk through, you’ll find an enormous kitchen on the right, complete with a full-sized pantry. Someone is going to love cooking in here without ever worrying about bumping into anything. There is ample space to get creative in the kitchen and cook up a storm. Just off the kitchen and dining room area, there’s a full bathroom, and if you keep going, you will find the lower level’s Master Bedroom – another large-sized room with ample space for a king or a queen-sized bed as well as bedside tables, two dressers, and possibly even a couple of chairs.

Upstairs at the Bristol III Log Home, you’ll experience the cathedral ceiling, which is bound to take your breath away, it’s just so astounding. You can pause at the railing of the wide open loft where you may survey your domain below, including the beautiful living room area and all of the light flooding into it. A dramatic open catwalk will guide you down to the second bedroom on the right, which has its own full bath as well as a walk-in closet. Up here, you’ll also find a massive storage area where you can hide the holiday decorations and seasonal items when you’re not in need of them. This wonderful log home plan can easily be yours for the asking. It comes from the “My Wood Home” website where you can find all of the latest information on log cabin home building – including how-tos, furniture ideas, and of course, lots more log cabin home plans.
